Jill has served face, hair, and
body for the appearance gods on the September 2014 cover of Essence Magazine
(on shelves now)! Ms. Jill put that fro up and decided to slay the world with a
sassy blonde pixie cut wig.
In the issue, Jill speaks about her up and coming album, her journey through motherhood to son, Jett, about being in love, and riding on the high of her feature in the current movie release for the James Brown biopic, ‘Get On Up.’
Jill showed off her 63 pound weight loss whilst gracing the cover in a black body con dress by Ekineyo and which she looks simply amazing in!
living for yet another type of lippie – lip paint; and more specifically, the
highly anticipated Glazed Lip Paint by L.A. Girl Cosmetics. These lip paints
have an immense color payoff and are rich in texture. Having the long-lasting
application life of lipstick, but the shine and smoothness of a lip gloss, you’d
think they should cost a little more. Thankfully, L.A. Girl Cosmetics is cost
effective so one could look like a million bucks without actually breaking the bank. The only thing that I don't like so much is that they have peppermint oil in them so they smell minty. Which isn't what I expected. Per their look, I presumed them to smell sweet, but anyhoo, I can live with the mint smell, which by the way, goes away some time after application.
Oh, and they are cruelty free. :)
come in six powerful shades:
[my personal favorite :)]
I purchased these from iKate House for $15.99 for all six and on L.A. Girl's website they are $4.00 a piece.
This is me in Coy. The color pay off is richer than what the picture quality shows. Coy is actually the most subtle shade, to me. I also think that this shade can transition well to a fall/autumn shade. But I'll sure be wearing this one and others for the last few weeks of the summer season.
In honor of all thunder thighs, love handles, and excessive cleavage
across the globe, I present my latest summer obsession - The Fatkini, or more
formally, the Gabifresh Nala Underwire Midkini from Swimsuitsforall.com
designed by plus size blogger Gabifresh. Thanks to her courage and confidence, fashionably
curvy women like myself are afforded the option of enjoying a day at the beach,
water park or pool party in the chicest of bathing suit styles.
Gabifresh teamed up with Swimsuitsforall.com, a curvy friendly swimwear company
to launch a type of swimsuit that would revolutionize the way society perceives
curvy women in swim apparel. It was given the befitting and unconventional
name, Fatkini. The Fatkini is a two-piece swimsuit innovated in a pursuit to
encourage body acceptance in curvy women and girls. Because it's about how comfortable you feel in your own skin.
I love everything about this ‘kini, from the colors and patterns to the fit and support. It is heavenly made for its purpose with curvy women in mind. Now, being that I have ample assets, I was unsure, especially, how the top would fit, but it has an underwire which provides enough support for my girls to sit nicely. As for the bottom, I could not have constructed it better myself. It supports the midsection well, and if apprehensive about the cut-outs on the side, don’t be! The edginess makes for a great confidence boost! Both my top and bottom are size 22.
The current and full price is $78, but of course, I got it on some random sale and it was not more than $65 including shipping.
Also, some other fashion companies that cater to the curvy population realized that there is definitely a market in curvy fashion and launched their own versions of plus swimwear. Below are some of the labels that I adore.
I was just gushing with excitement when I
received my 2 Muji makeup storage cases in the mail yesterday! Used by the
Kardashians and many makeup gurus, these cases come in various sizes, are great
for storing loads of cosmetics, and they look wonderful on display!
Most of my things fit in the drawers, but some were slightly too large as you can see on top.
These cases can easily retail from $100-$300+ for
just one case; however, I purchased two for only $55.75 + FREE shipping. For details
on how I got such an awesome deal leave a comment below or contact me on any of
my social media pages.
Details on contents inside and above the Mujis coming soon!
remember a few years ago I would not wear lipstick (lippie) for anything,
because I thought it was dreadfully old fashioned. I recall ladies in the 90s
only wearing shades of red so I wanted NO parts of that. Ha! But thank God for enlightenment
get me wrong, there are always alternatives to lip lubrication and THEN,
neither were my lips ever dry, because my lip gloss was constantly popping in
an age-appropriate way. However, my perception of lipstick has changed over the
years as my sense of style and beauty has evolved.
As life would have it, I started wearing lipstick a couple of years ago and it has
been a committed love affair since. Now, no one can tell me that lipstick ain’t
IT! There’s something about the way a certain shade can change the mood of your
day-to-day style from chic and trendy to sophisticated and classy.
I purchased a few new lippies to add to my collection from two of my favorite cost
effective cosmetic lines, NYX & E.L.F. All of these shades are matte in
finish, which I adore, because they give rich, pigmented layers and stay on for
hours. Check out the links above. I'm sure you all will love them. I know I do!
Without further ado, I introduce to
the world, GlamoRAE, the blog. Beginning a blog has been a vision of mine for some
time now and it is excitingly overwhelming to see this come to fruition. I am
in no way an expert, but rather, just a young woman who believes that confidence
is the embodiment of a happy life. It is my hope that someone draws
encouragement from the coming posts of this blog. Thanks to all who believe in
me and who plan to read and follow!
